Spaghetti is a popular dish in Italy, but did you know that
you can also make it in Indian style? Spaghetti masala is a delicious fusion of
pasta and spices, perfect for those who love both cuisines. Here is how you can
prepare this easy and tasty dish at home.
Ingredients:
- 250 grams of spaghetti
- 2 tablespoons of oil
- 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 green chilies, slit
- 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of red chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 2 tomatoes, pureed
- 2 tablespoons of tomato ketchup
- 2 tablespoons of fresh cream
- 2 tablespoons of chopped coriander leaves
Method:
- Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of boiling water with some salt and oil, until al dente. Drain and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add cumin seeds and fry for a few seconds, until they crackle.
- Add onion and green chilies and sauté for about 10 minutes, until golden brown.
- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala and salt and mix well.
- Add tomato puree and ketchup and bring to a boil. Simmer for about 15 minutes, until the sauce thickens.
- Add cream and coriander leaves and stir well.
- Add the cooked spaghetti and toss gently to coat with the sauce.
- Serve hot with some more coriander leaves if desired. Enjoy!
