Spicy spaghetti masala, Easy and tasty spaghetti recipe

Spaghetti is a popular dish in Italy, but did you know that you can also make it in Indian style? Spaghetti masala is a delicious fusion of pasta and spices, perfect for those who love both cuisines. Here is how you can prepare this easy and tasty dish at home.

 

Ingredients:

 

  • 250 grams of spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons of oil
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, slit
  • 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of red chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 2 tablespoons of tomato ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh cream
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped coriander leaves

 

Method:

  • Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of boiling water with some salt and oil, until al dente. Drain and keep aside.


  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add cumin seeds and fry for a few seconds, until they crackle.


  • Add onion and green chilies and sauté for about 10 minutes, until golden brown.


  • Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala and salt and mix well.


  • Add tomato puree and ketchup and bring to a boil. Simmer for about 15 minutes, until the sauce thickens.


  • Add cream and coriander leaves and stir well.


  • Add the cooked spaghetti and toss gently to coat with the sauce.


  • Serve hot with some more coriander leaves if desired. Enjoy!
